It is not only extreme weather events that place special demands on the planning and construction of surface drainage systems for streets and squares. Legislation and the specifications of the approval authorities are also placing increasing demands on the infiltration of surface water or its discharge into bodies of water. Surface water classified as "normally polluted" must also be specifically cleaned before seepage or discharge.
